They're a few decent guards away from competing for the 8th seed right now and that team record improvement is almost solely on the back of Embiid being a top tier center already. And that's without Simmons.

Difference is the Kings are like a game out of the playoffs and also, Cousins is a vet. He's been in the 7 years now and this is his 3rd year in a row making the playoffs.

Embiid is a rookie. Off the top of the my head the only rookie I can think of in the last 20 years that got picked by coaches to make the all-star team was Blake Griffin

And they only voted him in because dunks and shyt.
