He doesn't get enough touches to play his own game. His duties as a secondary handler are being overstated as well because in his offense, the primary ball handler doesn't truly make decisions for the offense, there's typically no PnRs or slashes to the basket unless the play breaks down entirely, and floor isn't spaced well at all. On most possessions I see him floating around the elbow, while he watches the team move the ball around, and if gets the ball there's no cutting or movement whatsoever, which forces him to give it up. He's being held back, just like the wings before him.
Wiggins on day 1 of his NBA career showcased a skillset that we never saw of him in Kansas. He wasn't allowed to play his own game. We'll see that again with Jackson
There's been numerous games when he gets the rebound and pushes it or even a few lineups where he gets to be point. Also there were a few examples of players moving around yesterday when he got the ball I specifically remember a Carlton Bragg layup that occurred off him cutting when josh had the ball in the low post.
And also the reason there's no slashing lately is teams are aware he can't shoot. Hence why he's struggling to shoot over 50 percent in big 12 play. Crazy how he's being underused according to the coli and he just got CBS's freshman of the week and is # 7 on Kenpoms POY ratings.
