The way Self is using him.
He's really efficient and smart so I think he'll be fine. As of right now he seems like he's a less athletic Wiggins but makes up for it with having good vision and better feel for the game.
He can't shoot so he plays him as a small ball 4 and lets him be a secondary handler. If K or Cal did it y'all would applaud em. But narratives...
Self's history for wing players is looking pretty bad to be honest.
McLemore, Selden, Wiggins, they all were under him and Selden/Wiggins were very high prospects like Jackson.
Selden was a miss. I'm not denying that. Wiggins averaged 17/6. McLemore wasn't even a McDonald's kid and went one and done.
Meanwhile Josh averaging 15/7/3 with elite defense and cats is questioning how he's being used. I just want consistency.
I don't know breh, something seems off with high potential wings when they play for him. There was more expected of Wiggins, and Josh as well, maybe there's too much structure.
I'll agree with you that he absolutely can struggle with some wings and his offense limits them. But Jackson and Wiggins aren't the ones to use. Jackson gets an incredible amount of freedom.
But Jackson is limited in what you can do with him because he's such a bad shooter. K made a similar adjustment last year when Ingram was struggling with at the 3.
I was reading up on Selden,i was wondering what happened to him after he didnt get drafted....I read that he left after last year because his family didnt like living in Lawrence,is that true ? Too bad what happened to him,i thought he'd be a decent rotation player in the league before going to KU,but it just didnt pan out for him...
From what I last knew breh his family still lives in Lawrence. It sucks how everything ended up for him. After the Wiggins vs Jabari Duke game you couldn't tell me he wouldn't be a first rounder.
That being said i still think he would have been drafted if he stayed for his last year...
Think the hype of the 2017 draft played a part in him/a lot of others declaring last year.
