Wait why wouldn't they just stay a playoff team instead of bottoming out :dwillhuh:

I think everybody is overreacting to the idea of being a treadmill team.

shyt has it's benefits :yeshrug:

Define benefits

Yes you'll be rooting for a playoff team every year, but you're rooting for a team that's going nowhere. That more than likely will be a 1st round exit, MAYBE get to the 2nd round if the stars align perfectly for them, but that's about it

They're not good enough to be legit title contenders and they're not bad enough to get a top prospect in the draft. Just a placeholder in the playoffs every year and getting mediocre picks in the draft.

I don't really see the benefits that being a treadmill team has :ld:

They were never gonna win a title. They are Memphis

If Ainge was willing to trade four 1st rounders for Justise Winslow, then imagine what he would do for a center who just made All-NBA 1st team

But if they do make moves I doubt they'll trade Gasol or Conley. Probably just try to move TA, Randolph and Green
Zbo is the greatest (currently i believe) player in grizzles history behind maybe pau gasol
U think the fans would be big on that?

The problem is Memphis can't rely on free agency at all. I'm surprised Matt Barnes even signed there.

Yeah that's why they were never gonna win, they lacked shooting every free agency they dangle their money. People say no

So you're back with the same team and the same flaws. I'll still watch

I'm a Celtic fan. Paul Pierce spent 15 years here and was by far the best player they've had since the 80's. KG was an integral piece on a championship team and even though his career wasn't as long as some of the other greats he was beloved in the city.

But trading them was the best move for the franchise. Can't let emotions get in the way of business :yeshrug:

They drafted hall of fame players. We drafted thabeet

Well yeah. My point was that just because they play in Memphis doesn't mean they can't contend for titles. But yeah, things could've been a lot different if they didn't botch that pick

He's already 30 years old though. They need a complete roster overhaul.

gasol is similar to Duncan in that his game will give him longevity so he can still play an important role in his mid to late 30s. It would be tough for me to do it, but I understand why people would be down for trading marc. I would do it if I'm getting great building blocks in return with a great draft class.

It's only entertainment.

they made it to the WCF a couple of years ago where if they had a shooter or two could've beat the spurs :dwillhuh:

if jeff green was playing to his potential then maybe things would be different for them right now and they'll still be an elite team in the west, but right now they're stuck while other teams are improving. it might be time to just blow it all up :francis:

Without him you'd be giving up 60ppg in the paint :russ:

Kobe, Russell and Clarkson are turnstyles on defense and Randle isn't there yet to alter shots.
We're already giving up over 50ppg in the paint WITH him :deadmanny:

Russell at least has defensive potential with his wingspan. If Exum was able to be decent on defense, I don't see why DLo can't.

Russell is getting baked by PGs every game :wtf:

Felton, Rondo, Williams and Rubio all had him on skates, Exum had elite quickness and a ridiculous first step, he lacked the skills but the athleticism (laterally) for defense was there and he was much much much quicker than Russell.
