popavich and his odd substitution patterns are starting to remind me of phil jackson not calling a timeout whenever his team was gettin smashed on (so they could 'figure it out' on their own). It's 'genius' when it works (and when you have the personnel readily available to make it work).. but then you see them keep going back to it even when it's clearly not the time and you no longer have the personnel or edge to get away with it.
they're somewhat lucky that the pelicans are so incompetent that they probably wouldn't be a realistic threat to snatch a playoff spot as the season goeson (never know tho). but even then we know phoenix can consistently put up wins and we all still expect okc to go on their inevitable win streak.phoenix definitely has a chance to play the spoilers for someone if they can replicate what they did last year.
