Im not saying what youre saying doesnt make sense..but I just dont see it happening...I think Ainge really likes Wright..and Im hoping he re-ups Green...but if they are traded I dont think itd be for Love...if this was the plan they woulda kept Rondo and made calls. Plus..we'd arguably be worse with Love right now than with those 3. Our offense would look like ass without Jeff Green in it.

I didn't think about just how bad a Love/Olynyk frontcourt would be defensively :scust:

He'll be on his first winning team ever and in the playoffs for the first time.
But you know that team isn't winning a title next season if they re-up Love for max or near max money. Thompson's gonna get paid too, so the team would be about the same with LeBron another year older.

It still shouldn't stun you that he will be on the roster next year.

The Cavs have been trying to trade for Love for 2 years. They are not moving him.

They will have other ways of improving the rest of the roster next summer.

How are they gonna improve though? They're gonna be capped out from the salaries of LeBron, Love, Irving, Thompson, Varejao and Waiters.

Brendan Haywood's contract is expiring next year and can absorb by itself around $15 million dollars in a trade.

They will have the MLE and Bi-Annual exceptions.

They have a first round pick.

They have multiple trade exceptions.

@jaguar paw already summed it up, can't overlook the draft pick considering this draft is loaded with bigs and one of them will fall.

Just look at the bigs taken over the last couple years around where the Cavs will be picking (20-24)

Faried
Mirotic
Dieng
Gobert (27th)
Mason Plumlee
Taj Gibson (26th)

The Cavs are not in the same situation the Heat were in, they have plenty of avenues to improve and could end up with a starting 5 and a backup 5 this summer.

Cavs better not limp into the playoffs and end up with the 17th pick and they better hope the Bulls don't keep surging because we get to swap picks with them...

I'd counter that argument by saying the Cavs have a terrible track record in the draft outside of the obvious LeBron and Kyrie selections. This is the same team that took Waiters over Drummond, among many other blunders.

They're probably gonna get rid of Blatt too and bring in whoever LeBron wants to coach, plus, it's still Cleveland. How many guys are gonna take paycuts to go there? Toronto and Atlanta (which are both better than Cleveland at the moment) are Eastern contenders that are both gonna have quite a bit of cap room next season on top of the Knicks waiting in the wings to overpay guys.

That was a different GM though, and Griffith clearly knows they need a center, I could see them drafting one and trading for another.

I doubt they let Blatt go, they are paying him a ton and are still paying Brown. It doesn't have to be a paycut, they can bring in a center via trade, look at the deal the Mavs used to get Tyson Chandler, the Cavs will be in a position to offer an even better package than that for any number of 5s around the league. They have long been rumored to be interested in Hibbert :yeshrug:
