The thing is, the Celtics don't need it to be a great first rounder, have you looked at the list of picks they're owed?

The 2015 draft they get the Clippers and Heat pick, Heats pick is only protected 1-14 and they will make the playoffs.

Next year and until 2018 they get the Nets pick.

In addition to a gang of 2nd rounders.....They don't need the pick to be great, they have their own top 10 coming this year.

We don't have Miami's pick, we have Philly's pick that's lottery protected and since they aren't making the playoffs it'll turn into two second round picks.

Danny Ainge can do whatever he wants, but at the end of the day there's no incentive or upside to trading Rondo for some expiring veteran backups and some meaningless late 1st rounders.

Put it like this, I think damn near every other team in the league could offer a more enticing package for Rondo than the Mavs could. That's how bad of a trade partner I think they are with the Celtics. They have nothing of substance to offer. If Danny Ainge were to trade Rondo for that Mavs package I'd just assume that they were the only team that had an offer on the table.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Not sure what locations are preferable to rondo since he's only played in a major basketball market.

Milwaukee( this is prolly the best for him if he doesn't mind the location- could offer package center around illasoya, brandon knight, and drafts picks and he would get some real talent around him in Greek freak, Parker, sanders, and more. And could play for JKidd

Houston- DMo jones Canaan Nick Johnson really anybody in the roster not name Howard or harden are tradable and he gets to play with legit superstars again

Lakers- don't know but it is LA

Miami - could play with a contender. Surely they can offer a better Package than dallas

Indiana- play with a contender and get to stay in the east.

Miami has nothing to offer, and I can't see Ainge sending him there, most of the teams they're in talks with are in the West.

Houston - He doesn't necessarily make you better and Morey being the analytic head knows that, plus he'd eat into your cap.

Why would Mil do that though? Knight is going to be a better fit with Giannis and Parker in the future, and realistically taking a 28 year old PG to play with a bunch of young dudes that are 2-3 years away isn't what I would do.

Lakers, trading for him would be a disaster but they are dumb like that so yeah probably.

Houston is a bad place anyway. It's going to be hard to be successful when 2/3 of your big 3 are liabilities on the floor because they can't shoot 40% for the free throw line. Just slow the game down and Houston would be in trouble. But that's all in theory.

But I know from looking Howard and even chuck Hayes his frustrating that hack a strategy can be to watch.

But the point is that dallas package is ass without parsons.

@Malta I just think you want to see a super team assembled cuz that package for rondo is shyt. They're better off just letting him walk. It doesn't even involve parsons who ainge has been in love with since his second year in Houston

:wtf:

I don't even like the Mavs like that, conversely you don't want that trade to go through cause the Mavs would probably be better with Rondo than the Rockets. I have no dog in the fight :yeshrug: it just seems like logical trade partners all things considered.

I'll look into it, cause what I'm reading says you'd get the pick, it was originally from the Cavs, traded to Miami, then to the Sixers, then to you. Two different sites are saying completely different things.

You can't look at it like that though, Rondo can just cross a lot of teams off the list, if that's the deal they take then it's because Rondo was playing hardball and Ainge isn't about to lose him for nothing.

You're confusing the pick Philly is getting and the pick Boston is getting.

Boston: 2015 first round draft pick from Philadelphia
Philadelphia's 2015 1st round pick to Boston (via Miami) protected for selections 1-14; if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Philadelphia will instead convey its 2015 2nd round pick and 2016 2nd round pick to Boston [Miami-Philadelphia, 6/28/2012 then Boston-Golden State-Miami, 1/15/2014]

Philly: 2015 first round draft pick from Miami
Miami's 1st round pick to Philadelphia (via Cleveland) protected for selections 1-10 in 2015 and 1-10 in 2016 and unprotected in 2017 [Cleveland-Miami, 7/9/2010 then Cleveland-Minnesota-Philadelphia, 8/23/2014]

All I'm saying is losing him for nothing and trading him for a terrible package are practically the same thing to me. Either way you get a shyt deal

That deal is losing him for nothing. It's mind boggling how you refuse to see this.

I would love for rondo to go the mavs. They're already a great offensive team. His lack of perimeter shooting and bad free throw shooting plus ball stopping abilities would be greatly appreciated from the perceptions of spurs and rockets fans if it were to transfer to the Mavs . He doesn't make that Mavs offense significantly better. It the defense that's issue for the Mavs, not the offense.

Your team was built off the back of late first rounders & second rounders, and you're questioning why Ainge would load up on them in addition to all his soon to be lottery picks? Come on breh.

Dog, they have Jameer Nelson starting right now.....

How is it for nothing when it's a first round pick? :merchant:

Ainge out here collecting picks like he's got an addiction.
You overvaluing the fukk outta that first rounder.

If that's the case then a team that can actually offer a lottery pick should be very attractive for ainge.

My team was built off of the genius of Morey and moreso the stupidity of Presti. Your statement is somewhat false

There's no way you can tell me that Brandan Wright, Raymond Felton and the 22nd pick is fair value for Rondo, whether you like him or not. It's awful. That's a lowball offer. Ainge doesn't like to lose players for nothing but he also doesn't like to lose trades. There's no way you can spin that into anything other than an L for Boston

If it's "somewhat false" that also means it's somewhat true :mjpls:

I'm not sitting here praying the trade happens, only that I can see WHY it would happen, there are so many variables to trading for Rondo and the Mavs seem to fit a lot of the criteria.
