Didn't they push the no1 seed to 7 games last year?
So how big a jump is that really
Hawks lose points for having a coach that was pop right hand man...
WHAT.
Pop showed Bud how to cook it, stretch it, chop it, bag it up, sell it...then was nice enough to let him go somewhere else that had never had a taste of that raw pure uncut
This is corny. We might as well discredit 99% of coaches in NBA history too, since they were mentored by coaches that came before them. Coach Bud loses NO points just because your maniacal to-the-death homerism towards Pop tells you to.
Did you leave out the part where Al Horford finally played a full season on purpose or are you just willfully dense?
That's a rhetorical question we both already know the answer to that :spurstroll:
Horford isn't worth 22 wins.
I can play that game too. Just because Knight and Sanders played important parts, doesn't necessarily mean they were underlying parts of what success the Bucks could potentially have. They were both much closer to being system players than they were game-changing star players. Therefore highlighting the loss of them as if it was some great detriment to Milwaukee couldn't be further from the truth.
During the 27 games Sanders played, the Bucks had a 103.1 defensive rating
During the rest of the season without Sanders, the Bucks had a 99.4 defensive rating
Yes, that doesn't tell the full story given the fact that the Bucks had only just started the season and were still in the midst of finding their own identity, and they could've just as well had a similar increase in defensive productivity had Sanders stayed. Nevertheless not only did they NOT lose a step defensively, but they improved to the point of being a top 5 defensive team because they had the personnel already there to do so.
What Kidd has done this season is cool and all, but it pales in comparison to what Coach Bud has achieved.
