the offense has been wack for over a month. he struggles when he faces equal athleticism, unless he's making 3's. the spacing is awful. everyone is packing the pack against them. obviously he isn't the only reason why.
Memphis' offensive struggles have got little to do with Green, he's actually added a whole different dynamic to the team. He stretches the floor more than Prince ever did. The issue is that Gasol and Conley's production have taken a dip and leveled out to where they were last season after teams have adjusted to their play.
but even worse, he's a liability on defense. on-ball, off-ball, help. he's garbage. he's -13 on defense when he's on the floor. that 's not accident.
I hope you're not going by DRPM (because that's disingenuous due to not only is there no drop off when Allen replaces him, but Allen is the better defender and the NR is largely against second units). They were 11th in the league in defensive rating before the trade, and have been #2 ever since. He's been holding opponents to 39.5% shooting since arriving in Memphis too (5.8% lower than their usual rate - which would rank him in the top 5 for SFs).
