I see people saying it's the Jeremy Lin shyt, but there's not much you can stop that he's having success at. 7'0" 265lbs, athletic and hungry, you can't really bottle that up like how Lin got exposed.

Yeah Riles was smart, he doesn't take chances with project bigs, there's always the option to get them for a second year. I think he did the same with Curry & Oden, this time he knocked it out the park and Whiteside is basically everything they wanted and more.

What's going to change though? You can't really take away what he's doing, and he should get better in time as he learns how to play without picking up fouls, right now dude is extremely foul prone.

It's a small sample size, but he's a big man scoring / rebounding / blocking shots primarily because he's very athletic and big. Blount had been in the league years before you got shafted by him, and his numbers weren't as good as Whitesides starting numbers are right now.


At bare minimum he's going to be on par with DeAndre Jordan.
