When that album came out Kanye was NOT supposed to be a legit rapper but he low key smoked Jay on that. Jay gave you the shyt talking flossin verse but Kanye came with the def poetry civil rights Pulitzer verse

This was in the climate of ‘Eminem murdered you on your own shyt’ i just know jay was like not again


After already giving a full ‘16, a full 4 minute song, hook, gospel choir, spoken word outro, jay still came on ‘WHO ELSE-YOU KNOW….’


Verses were fire but jay was on his ego/diva shyt bc Kanye verse outshined him

That Busta verzuz thread got me thinking: what if verzuz was trimmed up into rounds?
something like: 10 singles as the lead artist, 5 features, 5 album cuts/bsides/mixtape joints

maybe a round where each artist get to perform something new

could be interesting and maybe trim some fat where artists don't know what songs to go with
