Gettin' It In
Got back from the gym today, I think the reason ppl can't commit is because they don't know proper form or where exactly to begin. So they do everything wrong, keep getting sore and see no results

Depends, but mostly it's about hitting specific numbers on lifts. Right now I'm bulking until May and then I'm going to evaluate where I'm at and determine what's next.Say brehs when you're doing a "cut" or "bulk" How long does that last for you or do you go for a defined goal ?
That would be an excuse if it wasn't 2025. There are many tools available out there. Hell, when I first started 20 years ago I was asking random people in the gym and learning from bodybuilding.com forums. If you really want to make the change, you'll do the work necessary.Got back from the gym today, I think the reason ppl can't commit is because they don't know proper form or where exactly to begin. I went once it’s too far from where I live. If I was a bodybuilder I’d go out there more often. They’ve got some incredible pieces of equipment that they’ve collected from all over the place. Aesthetically it’s pretty basic though.I have been to Rise and HNS. Rise is similar to Destination Dallas, proper bodybuilding culture but has too much Arsenal equipment. HNS is good for powerlifting.
But nothing compares to Absolute Recomp if you're an equipment snob, especially the new Fort Worth location. Everything is Panetta/New Tech/Nautilus/Atlantis. Top tier pieces that hits your muscles not your joints. Apparently, the rumor is the next location they're going to open is around my way. I will join there full time when that time comes.
That's true tho, I haven't really heard about quality gyms in Georgia besides Madhouse. Have you been there?
Yeah once you get in the swing with AM workouts and you lose 15-20……no buenoHad an abridged back day today. 45min instead of 75-80min. Woke up on time but for some reason I got caught up with doing my holiday planning in the morning
Should have just done my devotion and hit the gym like usual. Had to shorten everything in my morning routine.
Anyway, it was a still good back day surprisingly. Something is far better than nothing but getting to the gym at 6:30am was an eyesore, far too packed.
@phcitywarrior @xXMASHERXx I'm asking because I have been playing it by ear so far. I started eating more thinking I would go until spring and before I knew it I was up 20 pounds . Granted, I was usually around 150 before I became vegan it still seems like I should have had a line where I was going to punch the brakes
How did you gain 20 pounds without noticing? Personally I don't focus on a specific number as my limit. That's doesn't work for me. When ever I'm cutting or bulking, I do weekly measurements to track my progress and adjust my calories to make sure I'm not losing/gaining too much. Really though, each individual is different. Bulking for me is way harder than cutting.@phcitywarrior @xXMASHERXx I'm asking because I have been playing it by ear so far. It was weird. At first getting to 140 and past it was a challenge. I got from 140 to 150 in the blink of an eye tho. Over doing protein bars, bread, and oatmeal. It's not even that I didn't notice I was gaining weight i just didn't think it was going to accumulate this quickHow did you gain 20 pounds without noticing? I hope you learned from this mistake. In the future you should track everything and adjust as necessary. Going at it blindly is what keeps you from getting good results. It was weird. Ideally both. But if you can’t do both then I would do a combination of pronated/supinated (shoulder width) lat pulldowns. Get some nice progression going there for several weeks then when you stall switch to assisted pull-ups.Had an abridged back day today. 45min instead of 75-80min. Question: Assisted pull-ups or lat pulldowns?
I can do a few, clean pull ups but nowhere enough for a 3x10-12 set/rep scheme, at least not until I drop more weight.
What you saying brehs?
I would probably say lat pulldowns though I would need to know what your goal is. I would probably do as many regular pullups as I could, hit some barbell rows, and then lat pulldowns towards the end of my workout.Had an abridged back day today. 45min instead of 75-80min.
