Couldn't you just put your feet up on the bench and it be the same thing as a floor press?

Nope feet on bench has no strong impact to what I'm trying to achieve with floor presses (Training top part of lockout, recruit extra tri/delt power ), What I'm trying to do is target the chest & upper torso & the best way to do that is when you're as stable as possible i.e. laying rock solid on the floor with feet sprawled out (no knee bend). IMO Swiss balls, feet on the bench, alternating, you name it, basically anything that involves more stabilization from the core might make an exercise more "functional" & challenging, especially when the motive is something else (Partial lockout overload in my case) entirely.

I do FP's with DB's as opposed to BB (too complicated trying to do this on my gym floor solo & that).

Managed to bang out a topset of 40kg (~ 88lbs dumb bells) X6.....

I'm hoping DB floor presses coupled with the paused bench work I do will help me blast past this my plateau for when I reattempt my my one rep max again!

How did that go?

No lie it was kinda weird balancing heavy set DB's off the floor & pressing them. Had to get a next man to give me a quick spot on loading up the DB's and flicking them up as I lay down. It felt weird as fukk just working the partial aspect of the movement. On the eccentric part I kept awkwardly banging my elbows off the floor..kinda aggravating the funny bone alil! Got used to it though.

I stupidly over estimated the weight I could handle & scaled back on that real quick. Once things got going though It felt really solid. You can honestly feel your tricep/delts & pecs working overtime on the press due to the lack of core/lower body drive. I managed the following numbers;

DB Floor Presses (4 sets)
61'slbsX10 (28kg DB)
66'slbsX10 (30kg DB)
80'slbsX5 (36kg DB)
88'slbsX6 (40kg DB)

^^^ Looking to do these religiously over the next cycle then reattempt max effort set i.e.. 130KG bench (~288lbs) 2-4 weeks from now!

Summer is long gone. Not a pawg in sight at the gym.

I've been going to the gym later so maybe they are all gone by then. :manny:

Interesting. I was planning to do these Sunday but with the BB.

I'm switching to 5x5 for flat bench. Gotta get that strength.

I'm willing to try damn near anything at this point to grow even an inch on these noodle arms. :hmm:

Oh yeah, I'm gonna ditch dumbbell bench presses for a few months and go back to barbell. Barbell works your upper chest more and I feel like that has plateaued lately too.

My bicep routine now is 4-5 sets of preacher curls and incline curls once a week. If I had the time Id do arm stuff twice :demonic: Id hold off on buying that harness. It works but I think u can get a better bicep workout by just trying different exercises. The first time I did incline curls... the stretch :merchant:

BB flat bench is good money... just have to make sure to tuck your elbows, which you can do easily by just making sure to bring the bar to below your pecs and above your abs (for most people). From what I remember your chest was beast mode... I would prob double up on arm work and maybe upper back work too.
