I will say though that some lifting cues are not universal.

Nothing he said was "wrong"; for example, I for one kick my feet out to form roughly a 22° angle so I don't need to consciously torque my knees out on the eccentric [the way down] because your knees follow where your toes go and angling my feet out does this automatically.

Angling my feet out hasn't helped me over the years. Feels like there is too much stress on my hips, and I'm trying to make up for it on ascension. I hope the knee torque is the key I've been looking for.

It's possible your hip flexors are weaker than ideal. :yeshrug:
The more frequency you give to a lift, the faster you're able to figure out which cues work for you and which ones don't. :manny:

If you're only squatting once a week and not doing any other exercises to strengthen your hip flexors, that could be part of the problem.

As I said earlier, all cues are not universal. Just gotta find what works for you. :ehh:
