Do you guys believe in diet breaks?

Honestly I’m asking to seek some validation as to why I fukked up last night and not feel to bad about it

been on a low carb diet/IF for the past 4 months and made incredible progress. Lost about 25-30lbs and went down to about 14% bf

took a week off from counting macros and training after then 4 months to give myself a mental and physical reprieve

after that week started back up as I did before and made was able to drop the weight that I gained during the week off pretty quickly, damn near bordering 13% bf at this point(goal is 10% bf by summer)

but this past week I decided to start tracking my net carbs instead of total carbs but I noticed my weight and bf started going up after doing that

noticed that last night, got down on myself and binged on some junk food I had left over from the time I took a week off…woke up feeling like shyt so right now I’m fasting to reverse the damage done and plan on doing OMAD the next two days

Obviously I shouldn’t have none of that bullshyt in my house to begin with but wondering if there is a deeper issue. Maybe I need to take a diet break?

idk anybody can relate or went through the same struggles ?

Is there any reason in particular why you dieting so hard? you preppin for a show? fight?.... if not you need to ask yourself if the meal plan you're on is something sustainable mentally and physically. From the sounds of it, it isn't. You shouldn't have to take "mental breaks" from a meal plan, unless it is for some extreme reason like above. There's a reason the saying "it's a lifestyle" exists. It's a marathon not a sprint. You doing the right thing in terms of tracking stuff towards a goal, but if you redline it going full throttle and not looking back, expect the same sort of reverse effect.

But overall you tripped up one or two days, maybe gained under 8lbs..... it is life. You'll be good B... :umad:

But think about the sustainability part. Personally not a fan of IF and the other exotic sounding diets.... most I do carb cycling, mainly so I won't have those crashes and temptations to go overboard. But 13% is good homie.

lol na there isn’t a particular reason other than just wanting to be in the best shape of my life.

You make some good points tho and I can agree that it is not sustainable. My plan was to maintain for a while before bulking a bit after I hit my goal which would be much easier for mentally

just seeing my numbers go up after switching up a proven formula that’s been working for me made me feel like I took a step back and made me say fukk it

You around 13%.... you well good for any bulking... shyt I was trying to get to 15% before I started my bulk..... but got close enough. Don't get too fixated on that 1 to 2 percent variance. You overall in a damn good position and positioned to gain and cut how you need to. The foundation is in place diet wise....... don't know what dem plate numbers are sayin.... :usure:but it can get worked out...:pachaha:

Repped. :myman:

Yeah, finger injuries will jack you up in the gym. I clipped the inside of the rack yesterday on bench and called it a day after I finished my singles. Was bleeding all on my big hand towel. Vitamin K from all this broccoli has my shyt on red water status.

I just finished the tub of Pre-Jym so I'm on my homemade kick for the next few months.

  • 4g beta alanine
  • 8g citrulline malate
  • 250-300mg caffeine
  • Pixxy stick
  • 4-9g G2 powder
  • 1.5-2g breatine monohydrate

Sounds like if you dropped 25-30 real pounds that after 16 weeks you should reevaluate what your are doing relative to goal. I don’t know that diet break to eat whatever is called for but eating at maintenance might be the better move.
