People need to realize real strength is relative anyway. If you weigh 300 and bench 415 yeah the shyt "looks" impressive because its like 4 plates. But if you are 125 and 225 thats actually more impressive because of the relative body weight. People get so gassed over the numbers and don't look at the whole picture. Plus a lot of these people who can't do any calis look like trash. I'd rather have the physique of a soccer player/boxer than of a strongman. Besides the fact that most bytches are going to gravitate towards the svelte look the functionality is unparalled. If I'm god forbid hanging off a cliff or some shyt I'm pulling my ass up because I've done that motion thousands of times. power lifters falling to their death stay sleep though.
Nah breh @Unstable dude @Professor Mac is correct, not 100% but he definently isn't off track like you think.
I thought that was bullshyt as well, but as I said being in the joint for 6 years really brought this workout shyt to a new light.
A guy I was locked up with did crazy weights he had to be only about 5'8 but a solid 215,he could bench 435,squat 400 he was a MONSTER, he came home quit working out and lost alot of that strength he had.
Now this other cat who did nothing but calisthenics and he was ox strong just off calisthenics NO WEIGHTS at all,had to go about 6'1 245,he came home quit working out and got fat and is about 315 now,BUT he still is way stronger than the other guy and he still can go in the weight room and move shyt around,he just benched 315 12 times and this was just the strength calisthenics let him keep bruh,no lie.
It's some truth to it.
I always swore by calesthenics because many years ago when I stopped boxing and started lifting really heavy, it was calisthenics that had me doing crazy numbers. It gives you that extra inner strength that weights can't give. There's a reason why you see 250lb. cock diesel dudes who can't do pull ups, dips or push ups. These days I only lift light dumbells (30-50lbs.) and it's calisthenics that can have me walk into any gym at any given time and bench 405 or 20+ pull ups with ease. Calisthenics for life.
I ain’t gon lie tho my cousin did this shyt he wasn’t ripped tho but he could bench 420 and only did calisthenics he was about 5’11 and weighed 240
If you're able to add 135 pounds to your pullups you've already been doing pullups. Are pullups not calisthenics?
If someone is pushing 225 they're better than 95% of people walking on the planet, but it's not about it being heavy. I know you go hard in the gym from the Random Gym thread but do you really think a 175 pound man pushing 60% of his bodyweight for 20 sets of 50 can't put up 225 for 4 sets of 10?
you dont get it. after the results you get from calisthenics you wouldn't give a flying fukk about your free weight lifts. i know you cant even comprehend no shyt like that
last week some fool asked me how much i bench. i told him i dont
Once again it's about how much you bench lmao, you got guys who can bench 315 who can't do ten pull ups
also benching 315 ONE TIME don't mean shyt, if you can't do a set it don't count
If you weigh 200 pounds you should be able to bench 315, but you will have a hard time doing pull ups if you haven't been doing them
It's not bro science, anybody can work their way to benching 315 its just reps, a beginning might start of being able to bench 200 of rip, starting pull ups for the first time will tax you, no matter how much you weigh you can be 130 if you never did pull ups before you will have an extremely hard time
when a skinny can start out benching his body weight
that's what I mean by harder, it's the action that is harder it has nothing to do with the amount of weight
It depends on how you workout. A powerlifter won't be able to do a lot of pushups and pull ups because he's working different muscle fibers.
If you take a guy that lifts for hypertrophy, he will be able to do calisthenic work also.
fukk so funny nikka
Why are you snickerng at a 15 month old post when I said you should be doing both?

I have nothing to read up on, our back and forth you extracted this from has me saying one should do both so I shouldn't be included in this grudge you have against the calisthenic-only wave.If y'all nikkas read up a little, you would clearly see the advantages calis have over weights.
A nikka not going to the gym won't be doing both () so it's pretty obvious which wins this battle.

You don’t have to be 5-6 days a week, just stay active. Hit the gym if you can 3-4 days a week. Otherwise stretch daily, and bang out push ups every day (20 pieces are cool). Hit them burpees as well. Park furthest from the entrance and walk. Take the stairs.I know I say this every year but this year I’m seriously determined to keep my fitness up all year. I always go on a good run for about 2 or 3 months, something happens in life and I just drop it just like that and then come back again about 3 months later for another month or so run before the whole process is repeated again.
I’m travelling to Africa in august next year and I’m determined to go form january to August with no break regardless of what happens
Bigger idk, cut yeaColi said calisthenics will get you bigger and stronger than lifting, and even have you benching 405 from just doing push-ups.
