Why do you think you need a week off?

Mainly because I haven’t taken one since February lifting about 3-4x a week and playing soccer. Over the last 3 weeks I was having a lot of hip and groin pain on my standing leg because of my shooting technique.

I usually try to work through it but it was killing my squats

When y’all Deload how long do y’all do it for?
And do you still lift during it or just completely chill?

Cause I was going to give myself a week off to recover but it’s 4 days and I’m bored as hell, and I already feel recovered :francis:
deload week:
  • lots of low impact cardio - spin, incline tread, brisk walks, stairmaster
  • might do some light weights - weight i can hit for 15-20 reps - just to keep the muscles active
  • yin yoga 2x - usually pull up routines on youtube (i fukk with the hippy homie brett larkin) focusing on lower back, hips, hams and/or quads, opens everything up nicely
  • i also try to plan for my massage to hit this week - deep tissue, sports, trigger point, ART, or Thai massage - something that gets deep into the muscles/fascia to release everything including built up lactic acid
Feel 100 after this week

Rest probably helps but ultimately I think you would need to change your approach if you want to do both.

During a deload, I still lift but only ablut 40-50% of my max. I use it to not just recover but also focus on improving my lifts(range of motion, muscle contraction, form, etc). You're not supposed to stop lifting when you take a deload week, you're supposed to lower the weight so that your muscles are still being worked but not stressed.

Had to leave my joint in the turn lane and run to the gas station in timbs...then they aint sell gas cans in the gas station so I had to run to the Walmart then back to the gas station then back to my car :martin:

Went to the gym later that day and did straight upperbody cause I already got my cardio in for the week

I keep eye balling this peleton for my wife and myself so that we can have something in the house besides the elliptical and treadmill. But the price on the peleton to me seems to be too costly for something that may not be used as much. I'm debating between the peleton and a rower. If you could rate your purchase on a scale of 1-10 what would you rate it or do you regret it in anyway?
I have a rower. The concept 2 one that’s at all the. CrossFit gyms

I think for a rower to be worth it, you have to enjoy doing the movement because it isn’t mindless cardio like a bike. It requires you to focus on your form

I love it tho. I use it for LISS and interval training
Peleton is a waste of money. Buy an Airbike and call it a day

these serve 2 different purposes

an Airbike is used for HITT

ehh an Airbike can be used for Steady state or HIIT, the same way an elliptical can be used in the same manner. My point still stands on the ROI not being there for the Pelaton. It seems like breh just wants various options for cardio, because I wouldn't compare the experience you get with a Rower to any of the stuff mentioned.

Of course it can be, but that’s not the primary use of an airbike and it’s not designed for that

I had a concept 2 model M4 or something and sold it to one of my warrant officers before I left fort hood. I used to enjoy rowing. I’m more so trying to find something else for the wife and she wanted a peloton. But I just don’t like that price on it. I used to swear by rowing because I hated running. I just ran when I had to or when I had an APFT coming up.
