PSA for the weekend warriorsAnother creh came in and set up shop in the other squat rack. Bag, two bottles, knee sleeves, cheap Velcro belt, and Nanos.
He starts by doing a long, exaggerated warm-up with dynamic stretches and light squats.
He puts his knee sleeves on his shins and is working-working with 225. Bumps up to 275, sleeved up, and is struggling. Starts doing sets (maybe triples) of 315 with the clips on and is absolutely grinding. He ends up missing the 2nd or 3rd rep of a set and ends up dumping the bar over his head because apparently he doesn't know how to bail.
It's not nice to laugh at people's failure (to their face) so I had to remind myself not to bust out laughing.
Only time I use my wrist straps is when I do deadlifts or super heavy BB rows.
Our gym don’t fukk with chalk. Mind you these barbell spots definitely do thatI don’t even use wrist wraps for heavy deadlifts. Throw some liquid chalk on at max. Work on that grip strength imo.
