Woke up at 2 today to be in gym, pushing, by 3:30.

Took a nap yesterday afternoon but only got like 3 hours of sleep. :bryan:

Thankfully I had the new powder, this homemade shyt chopped and screwed. :pacspit: :camby:

Another creh came in and set up shop in the other squat rack. Bag, two bottles, knee sleeves, cheap Velcro belt, and Nanos. :ehh:

He starts by doing a long, exaggerated warm-up with dynamic stretches and light squats.

He puts his knee sleeves on his shins and is working-working with 225. Bumps up to 275, sleeved up, and is struggling. Starts doing sets (maybe triples) of 315 with the clips on and is absolutely grinding. He ends up missing the 2nd or 3rd rep of a set and ends up dumping the bar over his head because apparently he doesn't know how to bail. :russ: :dead: :francis:

It's not nice to laugh at people's failure (to their face) so I had to remind myself not to bust out laughing. :wow:

PSA for the weekend warriors

Wearing knee sleeves or wraps while benching 225 lbs is fukking absurd unless your knees are toast.

Even overrelying on wrist straps on back/pull day will have you missing out on the forearm and overall grip strength you can get without it. Only time I use my wrist straps is when I do deadlifts or super heavy BB rows.

Weightlifting belt I only wear on Back and Leg day. To each their own but I crack up when nikkas walk in the gym looking like robocop (elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, gloves, belt) :laff:

Only time I use my wrist straps is when I do deadlifts or super heavy BB rows.

I don’t even use wrist wraps for heavy deadlifts. Throw some liquid chalk on at max. Work on that grip strength imo.

Our gym don’t fukk with chalk. Mind you these barbell spots definitely do that

That’s tough. I only use liquid chalk since it doesn’t make any mess on the floor and minimal on bar. Some gyms are pretty strict.
