Anybody here do 5x5 training? opinions?
A trainer at Equinox basically put me on. It's effective. You just need a like-minded partner to ensure you don't kill yourself on certain lifts (i.e. barbell benching) since you're just about pushing your max.

I'm going to cut out whey protein from my diet for the most part. (Maybe once a week now instead of everyday.)

The IGF-1 has likely been causing my breakouts and I'm tired of that shyt.

Apparently egg white protein is the way to go if you need a shake. Avoid the ones with soy lecithin.

Looks like I'm just going to have to eat more food (the right food of course).

dapped and repped.

For the upper/lower split I found this - it looks good but do I have to switch up the exercises on the second day?

Upper/Lower 4 Day Gym Bodybuilding Split Workout

How much of a calorie deficit you recommend? Right now after calculating my BMR is 1850 and I changed my fitness plan from eating 2240 calories a day (maintain weight level) to 1740 calories (losing a pound a week... and that's just off reaching this many calories, let alone working out)

No, you dont need to change exercises the second day. Just use progressive overload and you are golden.

Thats a little low for calories. Your BMR doesnt account for daily physical activity

If I were you I would shoot for 2200 calories on rest days and 2400 calories on workout days and keep there until your weightloss stalls

Honestly I cut off whey completely and haven't noticed much of a change at all. I'm still getting my protein that I did before, but now it comes from food and milk basically.

To me it should only be used if you are struggling to reach your daily protein amount. I'm sure people will disagree with me on this.

I pretty much agree...I can't do the milk though. It's just so much easier to get it through a shake..especially if you're on the go.

Powder isn't needed at all. Nothing wrong with it but not essential :manny:

These days I struggle to get like 100 grams through food :sadcam:

My usual routine is that I am so busy I dont get to eat until like 3pm, a couple of chicken pieces in the evening if I bothered to cook but I find it much easier to eat carbs that protein :shaq2:

My shakes taste :banderas: so I don't mind drinking em at my desk

You're talking about acne right?

Cause I'm on my 3rd week of it and I got like 6-7 big ones in the head area. It's either from the whey or the manuka honey I recently started applying to my face

I was originally in that vicinity but according to the app, that's gaining a pound a week. I assumed having a low calorie intake and working out, will lead to a significant calorie deficit that will lose weight

Im tryna figure out how much calories are burned with exercises such as bench press, dumbell shoulder press, etc

Yup. It's been fukking with my hormones so I've decided today to lay off of it as much. I normally do 3 scoops a day but now I'll do a week off...finish my tub by only taking 6 scoops a week...then transition to the egg white protein.

The upside is the psychological aspect of how food will better satiate me all while forcing me to deal with less room to allow for unhealthy shyt in my diet.

Like @The ADD said, the powder isn't essential, especially if you're younger....I'm 26 so I'll be aaight.
