The Truth
He is not a 3 or 4. Zion is a 5 who has offensive skills to play point forward. But he is way too small to play 5 even if he has the width. I am a believer that he will always be a defensive liability but his stats will look good on both sides of the court. He is fine for college 5. I had no doubt about that from the jump.
Homie ain't no 5 he got too many skills a 5 don't have

He can play one but he ain't no 5.

I really wonder if y'all been following this kid or if nikkas just started watching his game. He has NEVER played the 5, and plays more like a guard than anything. He was running the point for god sakes for stretches of this game. He didn't even play 5 for Duke at any point

Except he does, the only difference is, he can blur that line against inferior athletes (especially being so one-hand dominant). As is, he doesn't have the size/skillset to break down NBA caliber defenders, which is why there's no use in bringing up what he does against smaller or taller players, when it's simply his athleticism that's allowing him to play like this. Which in theory would be fine if he was 6'10", but he's 3-4 inches from that, and with his style of play and lack of perimeter game, it's not exactly a recipe for NBA stardom.
I been watching Zion for years, bully ball is not what comes to mind. Bully ball requires less skill and less finesse.

He's playing with and against a couple of the best athletes in college everyday, and still does the same shyt. He is not one hand dominant:snoop: Did you see how many times he drove and finished with his right just tonight?

Yall were literally saying the same shyt before he came to college and he had one of the easiest games of his life while playing 23 minutes. So when he starts doing this against NBA nikkas, what will be the next excuse?

You do realize that the athleticism/talent gap between HS-college is not even remotely close to college-NBA, right? If you don't think his style of play at his height will have transition issues once he hits the league, you're going to be in for a harsh reality check.

I don't know what position will suit him best, but he damn sure ain't no 5.

So which is it, because nikkas was saying he was playing nobodies in HS and that the talent gap between Div 1 college players and HS was such a large gap as well...

He stood head and shoulders above everyone not named RJ Barrett tonight and athletically, he stood head and shoulders out of everyone in the building... and these are future 1st round or top 10 lottery picks.

You keep making these imaginary problems like dude doesn't belong in the league and it's:gucci:

I don't see how this has any relevance to what I said, when i) I wasn't one of them dudes ii) the gap between HS-college can still be "large", but not anywhere near the same degree as college-NBA.
You keep making these imaginary problems like dude doesn't belong in the league and it's:gucci:
Point to where exactly I'm stating he doesn't belong in the league? And you wanna talking about making up "imagnary problems'.

:usure:

All I'm saying is, as is, he's going to have issues finding a fixed position in the league, because with his current style of play he's going to run into transition problems at the 2, 3 or 4. And unless he hits a growth spurt, or extends his perimeter game, those issues won't disappear.

If Draymond can play the 4 in the NBA why in the hell Zion can't?
Because Draymond is an all-time great defender (and arguably the most versatile defender ever), which aside from a few highlight blocks, impact that Zion is unlikely to replicate.

Except he does, the only difference is, he can blur that line against inferior athletes (it's the reason why being so left-hand dominant isn't limiting his impact). As is, he doesn't have the size/skillset to break down NBA caliber defenders, which is why there's no use in bringing up what he does against smaller or taller players, when it's simply his athleticism that's allowing him to play like this. Basically he doesn’t play the conventional bully ball we’re used to seeing but there is definitely a bully ball component to his game

Anything less than a chip Coach K, and we’re gonna permanently flattop you

I can see the Randle comparison but Zion is a MUCH better athlete, has a better jumper, a better handle, and is a wizard passing the ball.

I called it in another thread months ago, Zion has the potential to be 93 Barkley w/ hops.

Last night cemented my impression of him that he's the best player in his class, possibly the country.

:mjlol: I forgot Draymond can block Kareem’s skyhook and guard Shaq

Draymond isn’t in any sense an all-time great defender in any sense of the word, but Zion is just a different player. He has potential to be a good defender because of not only his strength but his speed and quickness at his size.

As a NBA player, I can see him contributing but not sure of his ceiling yet. I definitely like him more than I do/did Bagley that’s for sure.
