i'm loving luke kennard picking up his play, but tired of other duke fans hyping him up over allen. it's not an accident that he is scoring better when he's getting WIDE open shots having allen and tatum next to him. even having a freshman frank jackson who can penetrate better than thornton last year is benefiting him. even with allen basically playing on 1 leg, he commands a ton of attention and has been penetrating and finding kennard for a shyt ton of open looks. I don't think kennard could've produced like allen did last year when duke had a limited team and allen was the number 1 player on other teams scouting reports. he got doubled, hacked, grabbed, etc and put up 22 a game on high efficiency with only having a freshman ingram as a legit/consistent scoring threat to take pressure off of him. kennard has no such pressure this year and is benefiting from playing with a ton of talented scorers that opens up the game for him. in short, kennard's life is much easier this season, so I'm not going to hype up what he's done the last 2 games too much, especially considering how streaky he has been in the past.
