Random: anybody remember the year when it became normal to release movies on Thursday?

First let me say, yes I know, movies have been released as early as Wednesday. But it used to be a big deal for the thursday midnight show for major movies. Now, alot major movies come out Thursday mornings. Anybody know the exact year? Or close to it.

To me, I like it as a consumer. But as a fan I hate it. I used to love hearing people first reactions to the midnight shows. Get you hype for that Friday evening show.

Thursday previews are dope. My theater gets chaotic on Fridays and I generally like to avoid that.
