Def Cole on this one
wow thank you. great analysis..Ran
Sometimes when beats have a gritty/underground loud feel to them people assume there is not the same level of finese that goes into them as the smoother tracks. But this is a great example of how to make a raw beat in a refined way. The pitch/tempo shifts and gradual level increases... there is alot going on there. Way more than I expected. By the hardcore tone if you only caught any 4 bars of it while passing by you would just assume it to be a throwaway 90's loop, you would never expect it to be as involved as it is. Great stuff.
For me, when comparing a smooth beat to a hard beat I have to ask is the smooth beat smoother than the hard beat is hard? Thats how I ended up w/Ran. Cole's beat is pretty smooth... but Ran's beat is hard as fukk.
I gotta go with @Ran Dakroyd he got right to work
@Cole Cash you put it down with a smooth beat but it took too long to start up. kick or a snare gotta come before :40 into the beat. laid back track though props.
