All they had to do was retro their 80's and 90s wear :francis:
That shyt is out here and it’s barely being worn. Imagine Polo doing it and raking in the dough. The same people wouid be mad anyway. I mean skater boys are wearing Cross Colours now.:mjlol: Rue 21 have been doing Spike Lee and Public Enemy drops and you got going white Boi’s modeling it in some ads. That &0’s/90’s look can easily come back. Folk just have to wear it.

I'm conflicted on this. I'll probably begrudgingly cop something, but it's unfortunate that no other Black brand was able to "capitalize"/bring this project to fruition. :patrice:

Also, I think "we" placed so much emphasis on bringing back the AACU apparel that we potentially missed the opportunity to simultaneously pursue an endeavor like this (Props to Ralph and'em for being savvy and ahead of the curve).

Lastly, although I love the rich lore of Morehouse--I've always dreamt of being faculty/administration one day--I pray that we start shedding light on the other rich HBCU legacies IN ADDITION TO the oft highlighted big four (Howard, Spelman, Morehouse, and Hampton [The latter might be debatable]).

This is lazy as fukk, they just flipped through some history books:camby: they should have allowed HBCU students and graduates to create a innovative look that reflected our culture.

So they flipped through the history books to find looks that reflected our culture and you’re mad because they flipped through history books and created looks that reflect our culture? :patrice:

If that’s your style then I guess run with it. I been off that shyt for a minute.

Spelhouse is about legacy and tradition. Legacy and tradition is not trendy. So I don’t think they will be “off that shyt”. In fact, they’re going to continue to be “on that shyt” while everyone else is chasing trends.

I think the point is that they are curating based off of the schools culture. Not the culture of College Park.

Looks great to me.

I saw this on FB and half the people were in their feelings.

I think people just have an issue with dressing nicely. A lot of Black people feel uncomfortable dressed up, and would rather wear sweatpants and tacky fashinova clothes. Especially the women. Brothas wear shyt like this, but when’s the last time you’ve seen a young Black woman wearing some really classy shyt?

This look would be the schools history, not it’s culture :comeon:also who said anything about it being the culture of college park. Black folks from every part and the nation and diaspora created and still create the culture in HBCU’S, a ever changing living one that be just as regal as our ancestors before us.

Until they pay the person.
who created the marketing of that shyt in reg know.

It will never sell.
Learn your history.
If you part of a pillar.
learn how you got the gateway to that pillar from your gen.

It is reg know.

It ain't no mysteries to this shyt.
Facts exist and the cultural people behind those facts are still alive.

Go find and give them their props.
