I play that album more than 36 Chambers, RZA expanded their sound. But yes 36 Chambers is what Wu-Tang is and is the definitive classic, even though Wu-Tang Forever is them at their zenith from a production standpoint and a popularity.

People didn't think it was hard compared to 36 Chambers, same with Nas and IWW from illmatic, they changed their sound.WTF is Vlad talking about?

Wu-forever is a album you do 5 albums in from interviews over the years like half the clan don't really fukk with that album like that
if the album was what it should have been Wu would be a lot bigger today (musically)

I feel you on that, but I was making a specific comment addressing Vlad’s framing of people saying half the album was trash and half wasn’t. Maybe my memory is just trash, but I don’t really remember anyone acting like half of Forever is garbage. I did always think disc 1 was a little better than disc 2, but I never heard anyone say disc 2 was trash.

I think it was maybe a mistake to do a double album. I’d almost argue that any double album from a 10 person group almost can’t sound like a compilation album to some degree. That’s just way too many songs with way too many voices for it to sound super tight and cohesive.

Raekwon said the issue not everyone was there and on the same page like 36 chambers. If everyone was tuned in like they were on 36 chambers it would've sounded more complete. GZA was only on handful of songs which I hate.
