Africans are closing in on 3% of the national population.Blacks are not even 3 pct of the Australian pop. It's not like she lives in Atlanta or something. Blacks are like unicorns out there
But the majority of them are Afrikaaners, other white SA, white Rhodesians and New Zealanders descended from those same groups.
They don't even have a separate designation since Black Australians refers to the indigenous peoples and African Australians isn't limited to just 'black' Africans. And they are from diverse countries and ethnicities without the sense of collective identity that African Americans have.
So their situation over there is nothing any of us can relate to at all.
In the 2006 Australian Census, 248,605 residents declared that they were born in Africa.[1]

In 2006 there were 61,450 Sudanese (both Sudans) in her entire country.
Around the same time there were 149,000 black people just in my city (not including the metro area) and probably 90%+ of us are Afram/have roots in this country.
