White South Carolina Police Officer Fired Over Racial Slur
COLUMBIA, S.C. — A police officer in South Carolina's capital city was fired Monday, two days after videos were posted on social media showing him saying a racial slur during a confrontation outside a bar.
A disciplinary panel unanimously agreed Columbia Police Sgt. Chad Walker broke department policies concerning neglect of duty and courtesy and should lose his job, the department said in a news release.

The City of Spencer fired an employee Thursday after investigating an altercation that occurred Wednesday evening at Walmart. The city employee hurled racist comments at another shopper and several times sent the scooter she was in toward the shopper and toward the cart holding the shopper’s 3-year-old daughter.

Black Employee Fired to Resolve Racial Conflict Can Keep $8.5M Award
A manufacturing company that terminated its only black employee because of racial animosity between him and several white workers is on the hook for a $8.5 million jury award in the employee's race discrimination lawsuit, according to a California appeals court.
The jury found in his favor and awarded him $373,514 in past and future economic losses and $2.5 million in past and future noneconomic losses.
They reduced his original award of 13+ million but he still got paid in the end!
