His "sickness" has resulted in alleged criminal behavior though, including sexual relations with underage minors on multiple occasions. That's not the same as being a hoarder, or making bad decisions financially, or reconciling with one's estranged spouse, etc.. R.Kelly going on that show would be similar to Bernie Madoff going on Shark Tank. At this point in time after the airing of that documentary, Kelly going on that show would be offensive to far too many people. R.Kelly right now is more suited to be on an episode of To Catch a Predator with than Fix My Life with Iyanla Vanzant.


As far as financial sense is concerned, while that episode might have astronomical ratings, the question would be how much of a hit would the show take before and afterwards. In this climate of metoo, I don't think you want to be a Black entertainer on the wrong side of the movement, and that goes for Iyanla Vanzant as well.
