Can you picture your average cornball "lyrical" rapper of today being able to do this?

Some day hip hop nerds will realize that the best rappers are always people with some sort of musical ear and feel grooves. No amount of bars can compensate for a lack of charisma/passion

I can't pretend like I was the biggest fan but I've been a casual listener over the years. Monkey barz got heavy play. Figure four was my favorite song by him. He was obnoxiously talented and I always assumed he'd get big by accident one day. I also have a lot of respect for a rapper who can jump on an underground hardcore track even if it's just okay

Sean Price: Rap Game Incredible Hulk | NOISEY

On Twitter, you often change your name to a play off many different civil rights icons. Currently, it’s Talcum X but in the past, it’s been Sean Mandela.
You know my thing is? Italians have gangsters, right? They got these Al Capones and the Nittis and we name ourselves after these gangsters and these people even in the movies, they are like “You’re a ******? We don’t like ******s.” I’m like “Yo! We got black gangsters, too!” We got African gangsters. You can’t tell me that Mandela ain’t a gangster. He did 27 years in a South African prison then came back and ran the town. It don’t get no more gangster than that. I’m just trying to let people know we got gangsters, too. Chaka Zulu is a gangster. Idi Amin is a gangster. Let it be known, man.

How do you want to be remembered in the rap game?
I think people will go “Yo! That nikka can rhyme!” And I’m cool with that. It’s the rap game, man. I wish that they would go “he’s dope and had 8 platinum records” but I don’t and that’s cool. For those that don’t know. Sean P? That motherfukker can rhyme. I’m cool with that because motherfukker, I can rhyme!
