I wouldn't be a hip hop head if not for Tribe. First time I heard them was in 7th grade. Friend made me a mix with the best of People's Instinctive Travels, Low End Theory and Midnight Marauders. It was basically my introduction to golden era hip hop and I was hooked. Been a fan ever since. Biggest regret is never seeing Tribe live.

I had a chance, in 98. They were gonna perform at the LA Sports Arena opening up for the Beastie Boys. Tribe was the reason I bought the tickets. Just before the concert, they broke up.
