I don't think there ever were any problems, Andre just didn't wanna rap no more. He was on Andre's solos and even did production so he was always around even after the last album. Now they can't do anything together unless it's an Outkast album for contract reasons.

The only public issue was Big was upset they missed out on STUPID amounts of money from not touring during the Speakerboxx/Love Below era. Thats the only time Big has ever publicly complained about Andre’s behavior. Andre even addressed it on Sorry the T.I. Song.

Members of the dungeon family also said that the two were dissing each other on Mighty O but thats never been confirmed.

And Andre can work with Big Boi and be featured on tracks with him if he wants to, Big Boi has publicly said all that red tape has been cleared up.

Andre just don’t want to rap unless he’s super inspired. And apparently he’s only super inspired once or twice every few years. And there’s nothing wrong with that, it is what it is.

Stankonia overrated af

Among fans that wasn't into 'kast earlier in their career.

Day 1 fans always thought it was :ld:

Not terrible or anything, a couple gems, but it damn sure wasn't overrated.

all the stankonia slander in here :dahell:

its not my favorite but some of yall act like its dog shyt

smh

Only issue with Stankonia is it is the first Kast album that has wack songs on it. There were too many songs and it lacks the quality control exercised on the first three albums.

It is still a dope album and it has classic songs on it.

I actually like "We Luv". "I'll Call" is a bottom tier Kast song though. "Mamacita" isn't wack at all, but it is the worst song on Aquemini.

I think stankonia was just bloated with “tracks” and a few records that should have been omitted ….if they just maybe attached lot of those interludes into the songs the record would be perceived as being tighter like their other albums because the runtime is the same as Aquemini …but the highs on Stankonia are just as high as the other albums to me …I just think the misses (Snappin n Trapping, Call B4 I Cum, ?, Gangsta shyt) had continuity issues with the rest of the songs …these weren’t necessarily bad tracks to me ..but they just didn’t flow well with the soundscape of the other records and were like record screeching moments that killed the momentum of the albums flow …that and the 7 damn unnecessary interludes

Andre did an interview where he said theres too much pressure built up for a new OutKast album. Hes happy to just release a few verses a year. ONP and others have confirmed hes still in the studio. I thought the OG 'Life Of The Party' was the best song of last year, Andre dropped a crucial verse and Kanye just vented his crazy ish via his writers.

I'm an OutKast diehard and at this point I think a reunion album is more likely than a solo album. Andre has had a lot of time to drop a solo, he prefers collabs.

I'm against Stankonia and Mamacita slander too. Stankonia is an incredible album, maybe it didn't innovate like previous albums but it kept a standard, the singles were huge hits and the so called weak tracks would be highlights on most rap albums. I'll Call before I Cum and Mamacita are hilarious tracks with nutty beats. Lol how can you not like them?

Honestly, I think they influenced myself and others more than most artists over the last 20 years.

There were problems. You can go read magazine articles from like 02 and see big boi was fed up. LA Reid talks about the meeting were they officially broke up and it seeming like big boi was blind sided. Their dj talking about big boi being almost in tears when Dre said he wasn't performing with him. The shots on mighty o. Big again being fed up and jumping on pink matter and Dre releasing an official statement.

And those contract issues ended 10 years ago. Dre could be on whatever big boi release he wants to.

Boy....u lying ur MFn azz off ainna

By the time OutKast recorded Idlewild, some sources suggest Big and Dre were turning on each other. The song “Mighty O” was the last straw. “They were dissing each other on that,” says Nikki. Though Ray Murray, who helped produce the track, declines to comment, Big and Dre vehemently deny any rivalry.
