Crazy..10 years? Feels like yesterday. Fate has it i have been listening to his albums again the last few weeks. Always reminds me of two of my friends who passed who loved Nujabes as well. Rest in peace.
Been listening to dude since this thread. I love this. Now I'm hooked...who else should I check out who makes music like this? I'm looking for mostly Instrumental albums but will check out anything like this.
I'm familiar with dudes like Fat Jon, DJ Krush, DJ Shadow, BLockhead...but this Japanese Jazz Hip Hop shyt is awesome.

Breh, its incredible right. So good that anyone rapping on it would not do it justice.

Emancipator. Nujabes helped him out on his first album by rearranging the tracklist (and inspiring the sound obviously). It's my favorite album of all time, I can listen to it every day and it never gets boring. Pretty much my favorite artist period.
Start with his music in chronological order, you won't be disappointed.
Welcome. We made a whole thread dedicated to this genre of music and continued it from
Your Avi confirms you know what you're talking about.
Making a playlist now. Thanks breh.
I haven't been this amped after discovering an artist in this genre since Amon Tobin. This is my go-to genre when I need a break from Hip Hop, or when i don't want to hear any lyrics.
Yessir Safe In The Steep Cliffs is a personal classic IMO.Emancipator. Nujabes helped him out on his first album by rearranging the tracklist (and inspiring the sound obviously). FactsHe made some great music. His death was tragic and unexpected. I know he’s Japanese and not American but he should be celebrated in hip hop a lot more.
Now 10 years has gone by... time really stops for nobody![]()
