What sucks is he never did interviews. I wish there was something out there where he talks about his production. He was a complete enigma. Even his death was announced quietly.

I never understood the term "Chill Hop". Its just sound like boom bap to me. That style been around since the 90's.

Just a way for people to try lump themselves into a "unique" sub genre that already exists.

It's not a subgenre it's just a specific sound. If you search for boom bap you're going to bangers/aggressive beats in there. If you just want laid back boom bap than search for chill hop:manny:

I've never heard of dude and I don't even know why i opened this thread but I'm glad i did. THis is the type of music I listen to when I read and write and most of the day at work.

Played a few of these tracks and I'm feeling it.

School Me Breh's...where should I start?

And is most of his stuff instrumental?

I personally would start with Modal Soul and Metaphorical Music. Those two have most of the tracks every one in the thread has mentioned although some of them do have vocals so definitely have a quick listen at home before playing them all at work.
