Champloo put me on to him, and a whole sound of music that I was thought about in my head but had never heard.

I listen to a ton of his music and champloo is some of his BEST work. Ironically enough its super hard to find. And you tube links are pulled regularly. The soundtrack imo is the goat anime soundtrack as it created fans of a whole genre.

this whole scene kind of ended after him, sadly

Fat Jon is nowhere to be seen, he brought a electronic edge to what the others were doing but i thought the feel was similar

Forces of Nature did not do much after the Champloo era

Wale Oyejide (Science Fiction) got into fashion, has not dropped music since like 08

Uyama is incredible. He really is. Up there with Nujabes really but Nujabes was the first.

I mean come on...

i believe he was his student, so that kind of completes the circle. he was the one who had his final work on his phone, i think it was an unfinished collab

Nakamara is dope, theres a certain feel with this pool of producers that i havent quite found elsewhere. a certain something stays in this group

Been listening to dude since this thread. I love this. Now I'm hooked...who else should I check out who makes music like this? I'm looking for mostly Instrumental albums but will check out anything like this.

I'm familiar with dudes like Fat Jon, DJ Krush, DJ Shadow, BLockhead...but this Japanese Jazz Hip Hop shyt is awesome.

I've grown to like Uyama more, but that's probably because we never got to see what Nujabes could have done.

But Uyama is probably in my Top 10 artists, all genres considered. Son of the Sun, Freedom of the Son and Freeform Jazz is about as flawless a trio of albums as you can get.

Posse sounds like some shyt I could imagine prime Tribe destroying (when it drops)
