As a dude whose top 3 are Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Prince I feel you but shyt has evolved. I say this newer style should be labeled "vibe&B" or something like that. Back in the day, most of the time it was about how well the tracks could accentuate the artist's voice now the artist and the production are co-stars and just like any group someone is going to get outshined it doesn't matter who shines more on the track as long as it vibes well. You just gotta get with it breh.

I'll be damned if I throw some Uncle Charlie on in the whip when I have a sexy 23 year old riding with me. I'm about to throw on this dvsn so I can subtract those drawls from the equation later on.

I won't argue with the timeless perspective because most of the vibe&B is interchangeable but the soul is there it's just been transmuted and served on an awkward plate.
