The biggest thing with these culture vultures is they have no clue of the R&B samples that dudes like Dr.Dre, premier, Pete rock, large professor, dj quik and others use in songs they love so much...

They have no clue of who Willie Hutch is and no idea that was his song UGK and outkast used

dope collection. with everything streaming nowadays it's nice to have actual physical copies/memorabilia of the times. I miss my middle school and high school days with my tape deck recording songs off the radio...waiting for the perfect timing to press record, being pissed if you turned on the radio and caught the song in the middle or the end...

damn...

what a time it was to be alive

They gonna be mad at you with this one!

If you don't fucc with r&b/soul, get yo ass away from me!

Word da fukk up. And this ain't a lil' nikka friendly thread. Peckerwoods and wannabe down "others" either.

I've been looking at who's been checking in...I see a lot of regular posters of thebooth who always post but are basically silent/non-existent in this thread...

I agree with parts of this idea but overall dunno. You could easily argue the generation of black kids listening to music today don't even know 90s or early 00s RAP music, and they sure as hell don't know shyt about 90s or 00s r&b unless Drake samples it. They don't know who Lauryn Hill is...I'm not shocked they have no idea who Michel'le is...

My mom woke us up nearly every Saturday morning blasting You Brought The Sunshine. Older music isn't being passed down like it used to, and the kids don't give a shyt. I'm not blaming them or denigrating them, but this is how music dies or becomes forgotten. If you asked a black kid in 1985 "who is Charlie Parker" they probably know or care. If your parents weren't playing old school r&b you're less likely to fukk with it like that.
