After reading that Tim Duncan thread, I'm really doubting marriage. How it works, the principle behind it, even the purpose. I've always wondered why it was ok and encouraged for a woman to marry up, in regards to income, social status and even lifestyles. But in the same notion, a man must marry down and be comfortable with it because he's essentially the bread winner and he has to love his wife for what she brings to the table. This same wife who is several notches below the potential husband, can be as picky as they come. Even though she doesn't make as much, she doesn't come from a similar background. All that is thrown out the window because of her "potential" to be a good mother and wife. I'm sorry but none of it makes any sense.
I have said this before and I will say it again, it amazes me from that Tim Duncan thread how the double standard takes place in the news media where it may get coverage but not as much if it is a women who did the cheating. The biggest it has ever been was with that Twilight actress last year but that's only because she isn't very liked already because she is "quiet".
But breh.....you remember that Elizabeth Hurley girl who got cheated on by Hugh Grant(or whatever his name was) in the late 90s with the Black prostitute and it was a big scandal?
Just Google Elizabeth Hurley infidelity/cheating scandal. If you did not hear, a couple years back it took place but her response was some "we moved on already" BS and it was only reported on websites and blogs(I believe this was 2010 but you can check the year when u google)...
It was NEVER reported on TV at ALL(to my knowledge) or with the same vitriol like when it was Hugh Grant. Even worse I don't think I read one comment talking about the double standard. This really is mind boggling.
