I see in that word usage, the micro definitions, and narrower and narrower categories, an increasingly intolerant people using them.

Her daughter turned down a boy (lil bro) to go to prom with another boy (young dog) instead. Lil bro drives to prom alone while her and young dog go together with a driver of the rental.
