Oops, I meant the other two. Iversons a better leader and faster than Rose. Rose is unselfish but AI had to ball hog. AI is a better passer too :leon: when he wants to be.

I was trying to be nice, but until Rose leads a team of scrubs to the NBA finals he shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Iverson. Really, the other two are the point of this thread.

I think he's the best then i think he's the best... bytch.

fukk your thoughts.

I think the main issue they have with your post is that "Bron fears Rose :troll:" portion of it

When similar players like Iverson, Marbury, and Steve Francis were just as good or even better in their prime....and arguably more talented.

Ok, Iverson without a doubt is better in every aspect (we all agree on this right?) but all three finished just as good at the rim. Had nice dunks. All were just as explosive. Quick first step etc....

All three had better handles than Rose. All three had a better natural outside shot (Rose is getting better though). I'll say they were all more entertaining from a fan standpoint.

Don't get me wrong, I like Roses game, and think he's even a better role model than player. Compared to the AI, Marbury and Francis, Rose is faster.....and he dunks harder. He's no doubt a better leader. He's more unselfish. But is he a better player? Or at least that much better that he gets treated like some new phenomenon? Like explosive point guards before him didn't exist? Now Russel, he is an exception :youngsabo:

Did these Bulls fans just start watching Basketball? I might catch some hate for this thread but :manny:

Anyways, I was just thinking this while watching a Yinka Dare Steve Francis mix.:wow:

because guards like marbury,b diddy and francis were a dime a dozen. plus they were all basically a poor man's iverson. when you look at rose's situation. first of all its chicago. that team has been looking for a savior for god knows how long. but rose on any other team and trust me, the hype wouldn't be as strong. its hard to compare rose to iverson because i dont think rose has the desire to score like ai. i think ai wants to shoot the ball 40 times. rose doesnt. he shoots cause he has to.

no question. would you agree that if rose played in any other uniform, the hype wouldn't be as as strong?

If the team was winning. You lead a team to the best record in the L and win MVP you are gonna get some hype.

Exactly, Durant gets a bunch of hype and he's in OKC.

His MVP year, his third year in the league, Rose put up 25/8/4 on 45%. Put up those numbers anywhere you're gonna get hype. Put up those numbers anywhere doing the acrobatic shyt Rose does, you're gonna get hype.

Iverson got a shyt ton of hype his rookie year when he put up 24/8/4 on 41% but Rose putting up better numbers on a better team is a mystery?

Rose is a great talent with a good head on his shoulders. It's ridiculous to say that he only gets hype because he's in Chicago, or that he and Durant gets hype because people hate Bron. Sounds like shyt 50 said about Ye only being popular because people wanted something different.

Rose got hype in high school. Got hype his 1 year in Memphis when they went to the championship game. Got hype because he was the #1 overall pick and because he puts up good numbers without any of the drama that came along with Marbury/AI and does well in terms of his marketability.

A lot of good points made in this thread. I'll agree, Rose got most hype because he's in a way the anti Lebron. His rise was timed perfect because it coincided with the Lebron hate. So the NBA wanted him to be the poster boy. But being a good leader/role model shouldn't merit Jordan comparisons.....especially after 1 breakout year.

Still, as someone said, guards like him are a dime a dozen. He's nothing new to people who've been watching NBA since the mid-90's.

Russel Westbrook though......:youngsabo:
