Born2BKing needs to learn to finish the argument. What does the fact one person lives anywhere have to do with anything. You're a smart guy, do better.

Well, for one, I worked directly under the Department of Community Affairs. When the funds for the Federal Stimulus were initially disbursed to us, we were able to directly improve the living conditions and lower energy costs of many low/fixed income households in the county in which I reside by installing refrigerators, new domestic water heaters, new heating systems, new windows/doors, ceiling/wall insulation, repairing gas leaks, lead/mold remediation, and a few other things of that nature all at little/no-cost to the homeowner. We were also able to employ an additional 20 people for my department including an additional 5 Energy Auditors. This was just my county, there were 20 additional counties that each received similar benefits in my state. In total, my organization helped over 600 households in 3 years' time before I left, the vast majority (about 90% according to State records) were Black.

:obama: Good look man.

He has allowed the basic rights of every American to be violated.. He didn't make specific black American promises.. but he made promises and broke them. And because he's black and did it... he gets an extra :scusthov:

Anyway.. I didn't expect anything from him.. or any politician. I ignored the Election threads on sohh... at the same time, in life, I campaigned for dude hard core both times. It's important that he was in there.

I'm just glad that he didn't get caught up in any real scandal. If he keeps that going then it's whatever to me.

What promise did he make during his campaign that would help only the black community did he lie about? What African American stimulus plan did he promote? What war on black violence in the inner city did he renege on? Just curious.

He didn't make black folks any explicit promises to the "black community" which is something black voters should be smacked in the head for because no other voting group gives their votes away without getting something promised to them in return.

You brought up Canada when Broke Wave made a vaild point. Canada has nothing to do with anything. The US president affects the entire planet.
I'm not tryna hear a nikka in Canada tell me that not a damn thing Obama has done has helped lower income blacks or blacks in general. I live in America and work with lower income minorities so I see the shyt DIRECTLY.

i think the issue is that there is less of a political cost to white presidents crafting or advocating overtly pro-black policies, so white presidents can speak on black issues without feeling the urge to throw in some "bootstrap" nonsense. whether the white president actually does something or not is a separate issue, the optics of white presidents speaking on black issues is not threatening to white people, so they can afford to show more sympathy with aggrieved black constituents venting their frustrations and whatnot. a black president doing the same must acknowledge how the scene will look to all voters, including cacs.

the moment a black person expresses disapproval of conditions in america that are not universal, many whites will take it as a critique of them or their ancestors. if a black poltiician directly addresses those concerns in a sincere and sympathetic manner, that black politician will be seen as a "radical, cultural marxist, socialist, wealth redistributor", basically any buzzword that you have been hearing from right wing cacs since obama got elected

the sympathetic white president is never going to be accused of using the force and resources of the government to only help blacks, sympathetic white people will just be seen as liberal, politically correct, or gullible. you notice how you almost never see blacks referred to as liberals, even when we are advocating policies no different from left wing white people? the cac brain has a filter to interpret our use of left wing politics in a far more sinister way, and this is being applied to obama, obviously.

a black president always will be treated like he is either stealing from hard working white people to give to lazy black moochers, or using the force of the feds to make up for slavery and jim crow by being tyrannical to outspoken white patriots.bacially, blacks are seen as either lazy or angry in american politics until the thing they are complaining about gains enough traction among sympathetic white people. conservatives conserve the status quo until their position becomes so ugly among more reasonable whites that even they have to abandon it (want to see a modern day example, look at the republican party's attempt to evolve on how it interacts with latinos)

obama got the lazy/hostile ****** treatment the moment he was inaugurated, he hadnt even had the chance to do anything yet. he is very sensitive about this, and with good reason considering how fox news reports him. fox went from being the mouthpiece of the government during bush's era-practically a state run, authoritarian organization that had no problems with the patriot act or starting bullshyt wars (except maybe former judge napolitano) to a constantly whining, "we are living in 1984" kind of network almost over night.

so i understand why obama is timid on black issues. i know it will cost him politically. i dont even care about black policies, but i still have a problem with his speeches to black audiences. i assume he keeps up the stop complaining stuff to remind the reagan democrats that there is nothing to worry about, but i have never heard him address any other group in this manner. this could become a troubling precedent that other polticians (even non-black) may think is ok. considering he is on his second term, i am less forgiving of his fear factor. he needs to man up when talking with black people about our concerns. cacs cant vote against him anymore. there are no excuses.

either that, or i want to see him start to talk to other groups like this. i want to see a bunch of white homosexuals told to stop complaining, or a bunch of fat, unemployed appalachians told to stop feeding their kids mountain dew in their baby bottles, or mexicans told to start learning how to drive like an american if they want to be more popular with the locals, LOL

I see where T/S is coming from, Obama does get unfairly criticized.
Now I'm not saying we should celebrate him :whoa: I'm just saying we should just realize that Obama is a big time politician, most politicians are ran by the banks; military companies, prisons, etc, so you'll get burned expecting anything else unless you're supporting them economically.

So, if we want politicians to fukk with us, we're going have to come together as a collective, A group of us will have to raise our issues to politicians, back the politicians both econimally and with votes, in exchange for them fighting for our issues.

EXACTLY, Obama said after he got elected. "The works begins here" We as a community can't just sit back after we vote and not come together to fight for our causes. Al Sharpton is one of the few cats who are out there in the trenches but cats on here don't like him either. Some cats just seem to not understand how politics work and what a presidents role is. The issues they complain Obama spoke out for were HOT BUTTON issues that were on his desk the first day in the white house. Look at the Chic Fila controversy. You had gays NATION WIDE protesting outside of the restaurants. Black folks, when the last time we done something like that? Came together and fought for a cause Nation Wide, with protests. We don't support each other like these other communities do. nikkas is just like "fukk dat, I don't know them nikkas" Al Sharpton went and made the Trayvon Martin situation a major story and we as a community did somewhat come together to demand justice. But we can fight for more and protest for more than just protection from police brutality. We have to do more of that and make our voices be heard. You have your scholars like Cornell West and Tavis Smiley who just sit back and criticize and criticize but don't do shyt about nothing. Same shyt I see with posters on here. bytch, bytch, bytch, but won't do shyt. I don't see any "lets start a grass root movement" or "how can we form better alliances as a community" threads but you'll see a steady flow of "Obama is the worst president ever" "Obama ain't shyt" "Obama doesn't care about black folks" type threads.

Reading is fundamental my friend. Here is what YOU wrote:

So, 1. If you are referring to ANYBODY I would assume ANYBODY that can help blacks in anyway...so I asked...what have you...being an ANYBODY type of person, done for blacks?

Your response: "I'm just a bitch-ass 22 year old". :sadcam:

So that's all I wanted to know, nobody can have an excuse, except for you, for not being able to help the black community. Go find some black councilmen in Canada to nurse your wounded soul.

2. You're trying to criticize and hold Obama accountable for not being a good black leader when most rational minded people should be judging him as any other leader.

If you thought that black America was going to change drastically after the first election of a black president...then I'm sorry you got your hopes up. I personally didn't choose him to be the president of "Black America" I chose him because I wanted this country to someone other than an old white man, represent this country as a great leader. Plus the two other options he was running against were not to my liking so I'm pretty content with my choice.

I don't judge his actions and policies on one group of people I judge him on his policies on all Americans.

3. I told you I felt sorry for the fact that your life is so miserable with Obama being the president but seeing how your Canadian, looking and judging us from the outside, I guess I now REALLY don't give a fuck what you think. So.....umm...eat a dick? :manny:

Blah blah blah ad-hominems and personal attacks. I didn't know I was insulting your father. My bad.
