Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
I already looked at current gen consoles as low end pcs when they came out

Same, but in the past their architectures have been really different, the 360 really closed that gap last gen and we saw more ports because of it. The PS3 was so different that it made things difficult, now both of these consoles are built using off the shelf PC parts. They're more PC like than they have ever been before.

We gonna eat something serious cause of it, especially with Gabe about to drop that Steambox.

The Yay
so yal saying just cop a $150 dollar card every 24 months.
it'll prolly be more efficient long term and if your motherboard goes bad or something youll be able to keep up with the times.

doesnt have to be 150, a 200 bucks one will be great for next 2 years.

Another thing I will say is to never pay full price for computer hardware.

For example, that 7850 can be taken down all the way to $89.99 if you do the rebate and sell the 2 bundled games. @yseJ the $150-$200 cards will definitely be more efficient buying them every 2 years or so. Will it be running all the latest games at absolute max? Of course not, but it will play everything high and a great experience. In fact, if you have a buddy you can buy TWO 7850's and sell all the copies of the games plus get the rebates for a final price of about $180 for two cards...which is a damn steal. Crossfire them up and you SHOULD be good for about 3 years or so.

TWO 7850's > GTX 680 or damn close to it. I am willing to bet that two overclocked 7850's will bench the 680 at about a third of the price (If you take my route)

The disadvantage would be power consumption at that point, but I hope you have a really solid psu if you are getting into this game.

Get all those sales/rebates and you will be able to squeeze out a complete $700 no compromise build:
TWO 7850s
i5 ivy
mobo with 2 pcie
1tb hdd
128gb sata 3 ssd
750W PSU
Case

It will just be a matter of swapping the video cards from that point out. A full gen to eat on $700 starter hardware (which wont be that much more than the ps4/720 @ launch). If you don't have all the cash at once then buy the 1TB HDD and one of the 7850's after the fact. You guys have me in full nerd mode once again :snoop:

You not gonna get 7 good years out of a graphics card. You should get a midtier card now then reup in 4 years. Or you could SLI / Crossfire on a second card when we get deeper in the generation.

+1, that's what I plan on doing with my GTX 670, it's OC'd and adding a second will help out when games catch up. Currently I'm :win: on absolutely everything though, should last a good 3 more years hopefully.

so will i be good if i just cop another 680 and have them both in there like 3 yrs from now?
Just rock a single 680 and see how performance holds up to YOUR liking. When I got my PC in November I got a 550 TI and imo it's performance is acceptable. I completed Crysis 3 in 1080P, mid settings, smaa 1x with 35-45 fps.
Only game that skressed my card was Tomb Raider but that's when I try to use TressFX coupled with Sweetfx running(Sweetfx is the shyt man if you ain't using this while gaming on PC you lause.)

The outer limits
Basically depends what resolution you want to run @..If you sticking with 1080p I'm willing to bet coli cash that a 670 will outclass the new consoles. Don't even mention SLI'ing them. A 680 will be good to go
If you want to run higher resolutions is when you want to be getting all these new cards

I'd say it would be on par with a 690. The thing is you're trying to keep up with bleeding edge pc specs that may or may not be worth it to you.

I know when I upgrade my 550 TI It will be drastic!
