I was, but I thought he was saying the sugar content was high regardless though for 20g of protein. They do taste good though and at my local health food store I can get 4/$5. :leostare:

I don't know which Clif Bars have 20g of protein, so I assumed you meant the sugar content.

Anyway, what I mean by "poor protein source" was that Clif Bar's use soy protein isolate...which is highly processed and has been linked to some ugly side effects.

Comparing them to candy bars is probably strong, depending on the candy bar I guess, but they aren't as healthy as they claim or are perceived imo.

But yeah, most of them taste fukking great.

Chocolate peanut butter sucks, and peanut butter supreme is pretty good. Cookie Dough and Cookies n Cream remain the two best for me.

Yea, not a fan of the chocolate/PB.....BUT, the chocolate brownie (baked/flattened) with peanut butter on it?

i don't like these at all, i heard people's reaction to stevia is kinda like the split reaction to cilantro. stevia tastes like soap to me and gives me a horrible aftertaste. i do fukk with their protein chips when i'm in a crunch (:lolbron:) and really want the crispy saltiness of a chip tho

Any of you guys replace the powder with these? Idk if I' m lazy or just forget , but i have like two tubs of Whey protein that i barely use. I think i would rather have a bar or a pre made drink.

Neptune
I just ordered a 12 pk of cookies and cream from Amazon :hamster:

I have muscle tech bars but they're tough too chew :stopitslime: but 20g of protein though. Gonna try these quest bars out. Hear nothing but good things. I'm used to adding in stevia to my protein cheesecakes and sugar replacing recipes so i dont think the taste of stevia is going to bother me

Yah but it's expensive to replace all your whey with bars

I usually do a shake right when I wake up then a bar on the way to work for about 60 grams of protein. I'll have a shake post gym in the evening for another 60. I would need to eat about 5-6 bars a day to hit that... half a box of bars/day would be expensive as hell.

I guess if you're totally lacking protein intake then bars only is definitely better than nothing though

Glad this got bumped. I ordered a couple boxes of Protein Bars from Amazon earlier this month but ran through them fast; going shopping this weekend to try my hand at making my own during my usual meal prep.

DIY Protein Bars: Healthy Bars In 5 Easy Steps

Have 4 lbs of Whey and 12 lbs of Casein on deck I don't want expiring like my old batch did. I've got enough protein shakers but cleaning/storing them is a pain and bars are much more convenient for work and after the gym.
