Bunny Brister was a favorite of mine. Occasionally bone head plays but his talent was undeniable. Bubby could flat out ball when motivated

After mcmahon....
Bubby was my favorite qb on the team i rooted for. Back then before Ben.

Glad you mentioned him. As most probably have no idea. Wtf we are talembout. Lol.

Bubby had an awesome name. Not just for sports but in general.

If Pittsburgh beats Philly on Sunday, that's a loud statement.

That will raise an eyebrow for sure.

It would give us the type of win. That if we miraculously beat the chiefs to make a superbowl. It would be the type of win. To give the team to the fans the confidence. We could raise a trophy.
It would need to be a complete team effort despite adversity.
So if we somehow have one of these winning ugly games where we win. It would be an penultimate confidence booster for us steelers fans. To have cotton candy dreams of a superbowl win.
given the right circumstances to get there.

They went back the the strategy used to work for him. Open up the pass with the run game.

He was trying to throw it all game when he was struggling.

I heard that chit on a broadcast somewhere, I ain’t make it up.

…but you know what? Fucc it.

What do you even mean “paying attention to The Steelers”, like they’re the team to be following?
Fucc ‘em!
We already know what’s gonna happen to them every year. ROFL

Y’all can have this thread/argument. Just know Russell Wilson ain’t no fuccing Hall Of Famer,
and he not that nice. I’ll give him his credit for not fuccing up this season (yet), and he’s Comeback POY
no doubt - but fucc that other chit y’all talmbat.

No broadcaster said that because it didn't happen :mjlol:

You clearly don't follow football if you didn't know that Fields started the first 6 games because all the talk was centered around who should start once Wilson was healthy. You didn't have to follow the Steelers to have known that. It was one of the biggest stories in the league.

Russell Wilson in 2023
66.4 completion %
5.8 TD%
1.8 INT%

Russell Wilson in 2024
64.8 completion %
5.6 TD%
1.4 INT%

Russell Wilson hasn't discovered the fountain of youth and he's not "leading" the Steelers to victory.
He's leaning on the Steelers running game and defense.

It's working. But that's not the same as Russell being this big difference maker.

Keep in mind that Wilson has played
vs CLE (W)
@ CIN (W)
@ CLE (L)
vs BAL (W)
@ WAS (W)
vs NYG (W)
vs NYJ (W)

Every one of those teams has a losing record except Washington and Baltimore. And those games were decided by 1 point and 2 points, respectively. And Russell was not particularly good in either one.

There's a lot to be said about Mike Tomlin for creating a system where the team remains competitive. The Steelers are 10-3 and probably no one expected this.
But the team's record obscures the fact that this team's margin of error is tiny.

Pittsburgh leads the NFL in Time of Possession and they are 4th in Opponent Rushing Yards per Game. This team is grinding out wins. To be fair, you play to win the game so credit where its due.

That said, a lot has to go right for them to grind out 3 wins in January.

And candidly, if the Chiefs didn't lose Isaiah Pacheco (though he's back now), Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice to injuries, that offense might look fearsome AF to teams like the Steelers, Ravens and Bills.

I'm not necessarily counting out the Steelers. But I don't think Russell Wilson is going to be the X-Factor.

always the latino hating on a black qb :mjpls:

russell wilson since he's been starting is 6th in passing yards per game, 5th in yards per pass and steelers are 6-1

Why would I make chit up about the fuccen Steelers, bruh? Fucc ‘em!

I heard somebody say that, and I repeated it. It was wrong, fine.
That’s what I get for repeating TV football niccas.
But I don’t follow Steeler football. Why? Because fucc ‘em, that’s why. They don’t matter enough for me to make up chit about them.
I like football, I watch it, but clearly I don’t devote the time and love you niccas do to it. Congratulations.

But why pay attention to anything having to do with The Steelers?
They aren’t my team, I don’t live anywhere close to there, and (again) we already know what’s gonna happen
to them every year. Why should I give two hot fuccs enough to keep up with their injury situation every week??

So he's winning the way the team was designed to?:ohhh:

This isn't a high powered offense. That's why they were actively trying to trade for Aiyuk and Devante Adams. You're not going to light it up with just Pickens, Van Jefferson, and Calvin Austin.

The Steelers are basically built like Seattle was early in his career. They're not asking him to throw for 350 every game because they can't sustain that level of production. He's doing exactly what he needs to do which is be efficient, mistake free, and open things up by establishing the threat of the deep ball.

You can't judge a QB on a team like this with stats. The only numbers that matter are the record and TD:INT. You tried to slight his performance in the Washington game like he didn't throw the game winning TD with 2 minutes left. No one looked good in the Ravens games and that's usually how those teams play each other. A win is a win whether by 30 or 3.

The playoffs are going to be played in KC, BMore, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh. They're built for cold weather, ugly, grind it out, close games. They're definitely a threat to come out of the AFC and that's because Russ has been there before and gives them a winning presence.

It's okay. We now know to just ignore anything football related when we see blue text.

A couple of counter points:

  • You are also leaving out some pretty important stats about Russ that have improved between this year and last:
    • Rating- 104 vs 98
    • YPA- 8.4 vs. 6.9 (no more check-downs)
    • YPG: 255 vs. 205
    • We can argue the why's all day- but Russ is clearly playing at a higher level than last year
  • If you are discounting wins, then you should do the same for Josh Allen- who only has 3 wins against teams with winning records.
  • Russell will certainly be the X factor. With our defense, all you need to score is 24 points to get the W. Last year we barely hit 17. Russ has us at around 28 pts per game.

Do you want me to mention a better black quarterback than Russell Wilson in 2024?
Because I can.

In fact, the Steelers are facing one in a few days.

Sir...

He's performing almost exactly like he did in Denver last season.
If you didn't think he was playing well in 2023, you can't sit here and argue he's playing well in 2024 just because the conditions around him are better.

He's not playing like he did in Denver unless you're just stat watching and not game watching.
