With the cap space, they don't need to make salaries match. So they can take on Melo before they re-sign the other guys like Whiteside and then they can go over the cap to retain those guys. That's why I think it's feasible and we might even be able to catch them in a rush since they'll have to use the cap space first and retain their FA's afterward. You nailed it on Cleveland, I don't want Love in a Melo trade because we'd be committing to at least one more season of tanking and their picks are pretty much guaranteed to be late ones.
