The problem is that there isn't a max FA on the market that will sign with the Knicks that would stop yall from getting your heads caved in if you met up with the Cavs. Mike Conley ain't moving the needle....

Read my post again, it has absolutely nothing to do with the Knicks adding an FA.

i think he's saying.....you contact a team that wants a max fa player but they cant sign one...hoping they'd trade some assests for melo :francis:
not really us signing a max player

Exactly and that's been my stance since before the trade deadline. Wait for the teams with cap space and no max FA to show for it to see if anyone's desperate for a big acquisition to sell their fanbase on.

My bad breh.

Let me ask though, who or what would you want in return if it goes that way, I never see you say what you'd have in mind.

Seeing as the teams Melo would waive his clause for are teams that are at or near contention, I'd want a young piece and a couple of future picks (if we could get those picks without protections that'd be ideal but not necessary). The Heat as a good example, I would rather target Josh Richardson, an unprotected pick and a pick swap option than Justise Winslow and trash.

edit: Richardson and the extra assets is better for a our immediate tanking and could end up with better picks since the Heat are aging.

The Heat's pick situation is :patrice:.

Heat already making a run at kd

And next year

Wade dragic bosh presumably Whiteside will be back and healthy. Along with winslow deng richardson

Their making a run at a ship

highly doubt They make any deal for melo or a big trade in general

You trying to insult McGrady when he specifically said his prime. ::mjlol:

Melo in his prime probably could have taken the Knicks to the playoffs as well. Too bad he's not in his prime, not even close, but y'all delusionally don't want to move on because being a first round exit is better than an actual rebuild I suppose.

Tmac in his prime couldn't get pass the 1st round

Dude even took s shot at curry cause He's salty
He's not even a hofr

He should stop taking shots at future hofrs and players better then him

If they missed on KD though and still wanted to use that cap space on immediate fire power, Melo might actually make sense to them. He's got the same window as Wade and Bosh. You get a couple of picks off 'em and you're basically betting on age catching up with that roster.

Typical NYK fans living in bizarro world. I am surprised some people aren't asking for Marbury to return from China to possibly help out the Knicks.
Everyone just going at each other's throats:ohhh:
Breh to be fair you've never liked Melo so you're always biased against him
I understand what type of picks we can get for melo and how we can get younger but I can also see the downside to him leaving.

What downside? The Knicks can finish 0-82 next season and I'll still be happy with it to get the #1 pick.

brehs I been pro lets trade Melo for a minute
:ehh:

I have come to terms with the reality its not going to happen
:francis:

Melo is way to entrenched in NY and as somebody else said he's never even really had pressure to win because everyone recognizes the fact that rest of the roster is always flawed in some major way (Scrubs, Old Players, shytty PGs, No Backcourt).
:ld:
On the flip people here who are acting like Melo has done anything to deserve not being trade bait are stuck on his name brand. He's still nice, but you got to think about the future and the fact that Melo is 9 times out 10 going to be Paul pierce status game wise by the end of his contract
:comeon:

Best thing Phil can do is just go after some RFA's and outright get young dudes. If Melo wants to stay fine, but the team needs to be built around the KP future. There are too many better teams right now for the knicks to catch up during Melo's prime. Ironically enough Melo recognizes this fact and probably knows there wont be any pressure on him this year cause people will say "the knicks are a young team" and he'll just cash his checks and play the cut for another year.

The Cap space is irrelevant because to get melo it would have to be trade

And They probably gonna use that cap on re singing Whiteside

To get melo they would have to trade a Whiteside or bosh or dragic which i highly doubt would ever happen

No other player on mia even comes close to half melo salary

Winslow make about 4 or 5 mill

Richardson makes as much as me

Just don't see a heat trade going down

I could see cavs trade involving love

Melo would would waive ntc to play with his boy lbj

But even with that idk if nyk would even do it

Because love value has diminished in the last 2 years

Dude is a unathletic streaky shooter who plays no defense. And isnt always the best lockeroom guy on top of that

And cle has no valuable picks
