What's been wrong with Kristap? He had a good game the other day but for the most part his play has declined? Is he hurt? Or are teams starting to zero in on him ?

NY needs more consistent shooters to compete, particularly those who can defend, so that NY doesn't lose their strong defense. They need shooters who can and will shoot. I predicted that they wouldn't be able to compete with Atlanta tonight because after thinking about it yesterday and looking at who is struggling to score, I realized my perspective on their ability to compete was just wishful thinking. I thought some players would come around offensively — I was wrong. The players who are struggling to score can't just flip a switch after the All-Star break. It's going to take quite some time to develop. The ones who won't take more shots aren't gonna change. Jose, for example, is taking less shots in NY than he ever did elsewhere. You can be trash and still shift the defense by shooting because if teams ignore your threat to score, they know they can get burned. Dion Waiters comes to mind.

NY is like the Bulls who got stops but couldn't score 2 seasons ago. They were knocked out of the 1st round in 5 games by the Wizards. They only got to the playoffs because the East was weak. The same is true the following year for them. NY can get all the stops in the world, but if they can't score, they're going no where. Waiting on them to get used to being with new teammates in a new offense won't help. Kyle, Arron, Lance, and Jose have never played in the Triangle and have never played with each other, yet all of them are shooting 46-49% (some, well above their career averages). And when 'Melo has shot well this season, it's mostly in the 50's and 60's (58% tonight), which is well above his career average of 45.4%. Looks like his days of shooting like trash for several games in a row are finally behind him, btw. Even D-Will and Seraphin shoot well when they get consistent minutes. Some of the other players struggle whether they get consistent minutes or not.

The Triangle isn't the problem. New teammates isn't the problem. If you can shoot, you can shoot. If you can't, you can't. They need to alter the roster. And none of this Jimmer and Wroten, or they might as well keep what they got because players like those 2 will be just as inconsistent on offense as some of NY's current players. They need real shooters. Those 2 also are trash on defense. NY won't cough it up 22 times and play trash defense on most nights, so they won't get blown out of most games, but they won't close most of them out either. NY is still very fun to watch. They're just not good enough as constructed, and not as good as I thought and hoped. I'd be shocked if Phil and company aren't active by the trade deadline. My $0.02.

Been noticing him being a little on the hesitant tip lately. But fisher doesn't really let him do his thing plus Jose is a fakkit and never passes the ball to him.

Why cats coming in this thread trying to come for KP? :dahell: He ain't gonna shoot 50% every night. 'Melo only shot 42.6% in his rookie year. KP is at 42.2% after tonight's game. Give a Young Goat some time. And while you're at it, :camby:.
I'm not coming for KP. I'm rooting for dude I just want to see why he's been off lately
