Why is her identity still kept private in this day and age. They should show her identity already.

I get the logic of keeping the victim anonymous in a criminal investigation; but the release of information here with its timing is really sketchy and smacks of opportunism to push for a fat settlement check. I'm holding off judgement until I hear more information, but the way this has played out just doesn't seem fair so far.

Just for clarity on the criminal investigation part, the decision to pursue criminal charges would be the DA and not the victim, though of course the victims willingness to cooperate with the investigation makes it more likely the DA will proceed. But rape is tough to prosecute, do the existence of an investigation doesn't mean charges will ever be pressed.
