I dunno brehs. I've watched nearly every game Noah's ever played and he wasn't the same guy past couple seasons.
Hard to judge him on last year though, since Hoiberg benched him from day 1. His rebound rates were back up to an elite level, but he was still a disaster offensivley.
I love the idea of it though, but it's risky
Joakim Noah is like my all time favorite player tho, so I'm hopeful this all works out

Typical Knicks signing guys a few years late making the team older in a desperate attempt to at best become a non contending playoff team the next few years.
Most fans in here sadly will eat it up. They don't understand how the nba works they just want an 8th seed badly at any cost and don't care about ever contending or naively think anything can happen if U make the playoffs which isn't true

Well the latest report is he is meeting with 3 teams so this could all be from his Agent (which is likely). Phil has a habit of trying to convince people to take less to play in NYC. If he could get Noah for 16, I think they could flip the other 14 into at least a decent SG and then use vet deals, and rookie deals to fill up the rest of the bench.
Its still incredibly risky....... but you can't gain much if you don't risk anything
I kinda see no difference in this vs signing Chandler to $14MM per years ago. It'll be cool at first and die down eventually. I've loved Noah for years, and hope that he can play great ball all year for at least the first couple seasons.

18 mil in new cap is pretty comparable to the 13.5 he made under last year's cap. So the money makes sense, it sounds like he has several teams interested and Phil madd it clear he wants a defensive center on the team.
I just don't know what he has left in the tank. I was always more optimistic than most Bulls fans on him, and even I'm leary of giving him a long term deal
