To those who think we should explore grabbing Rose, why would Chicago do us that solid to get Calderon? Trade and then dump? I can't imagine any other reason.

@Brozay your thoughts? How would you feel about José Manuel Calderón Borrallo on the bulls :win:

Acquiring an early 2 rounder seems likely, but I crossing my fingers hoping the Knicks can get a late first rounder. I'd love for the team to Draft Willy Hernangomez's brother, Juan. Everything I've seen and read about him makes it seem like he'd be a really good stretch 4 in the NBA, and I think he'd be perfect to put next to KP when he moves to the 5. Don't know where he's projected to go now, but last I saw he was projected to go somewhere in the late 20's.

I'm thinking the theory is this...

Hornacek knows how to maximize fast guards who drive.

If we hustled a trade for a 1 year rental, and Rose actually plays more than 50% of games...

Hornacek's offense will highlight Rose's talents and bring exciting ball to NY...

In turn... it'll serve as a sort of brochure to guards like Westbrook who will have an actual sample of what it'll look like playing in NY.

That sort of makes sense.

In theory if AA and Dwill opt out, and the Knicks send both Calderon and O'quinn to Chicago they would have 47 mil in cap space. 20 of that would go to rose (as a rental) and the other 27 could be used go for another Max player. Then in 2017 they would have another 40+ mil in cap space.

Even if this deal isn't for Rose. I could see that being a maneuver to at least consider.

On the flip it looks like the Knicks could have between 22 - 35 mil in cap space depending on what D-Will and AA decide to do. Also both of them have to Opt out by Wednesday the 22nd the latest.

The 22nd of this month? Good, so we should be seeing something soon. These summer droughts are a killer. I'd love for dwill to stay since the fast pace should really benefit his game. But as of now I see both opting out.
