I would've preferred Vogel or even Blatt, but I can't be mad at this hire at all. If it weren't for injuries and the Suns front office being the Suns front office, Hornacek would've still been the Suns head coach.

He ran a pretty good offense, and if he gets control to do the same thing, we'll probably see some more Porzingis at the 5. I also wanna see what Jerian Grant can do this season, now that he got some confidence after the veterans practically begged Rambis to play him at the end of last season.

But this coaching situation tells us all we need to know about Phil Jackson...

The only thing for sure about Phil Jackson.....is nothing's for sure.
jeff took my suns from a laughing stock to the brink of playof contention. the FO fukked it up tho when they panicked and signed Isiah thomas when bledosoe was holding out. :francis:

jeff is a great coach :blessed:

So I remember looking at the Suns roster with good but not great PG's and not much else besides Morris bros. and thinking that team would be one of the worst in the league. I remember thinking Hornacek deserved coach of the year for damn near making the playoffs with that bummy no-sense making roster. I also remember thinking that after trading away his favorite toys and firing him, management screwed Jeff. So I mean...I thought he was a promising coach at that point.

But...compared to Vogel and Blatt...I'm not really excited. He has promise, but those guys are the ones I really have faith in. This guy is interesting, but was small ball heavy and had the oddest squads to work with making him twice as hard to judge. Then again, compared to Rambis he's a home run. I guess this feels like winding up with Okafor instead of Towns or KP...the disclaimer being that I really like Okafor and think under the right circumstances he can be great. But I also think he has the best odds of imploding as well.

Do I love it? Hell no. Do I hate it? Nah. Will I be judgemental to an unfair extent? Probably...because Thibs, Vogel and Blatt all seemed like hirings with a real shot. That's not including Walton who I think was destined for LA all along.
yeah the suns in decent position now tho. we got devin booker :blessed:

the future best SG in the league :blessed:

now if we can trade b knight to a team looking for a secondary backcourt player :lolbron: maybe flip him for a pick :ehh:

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I refuse to force myself into cosigning this hire :mjpls:

No respectable coach that cares about winning wants to come to New York because the roster is ass :mjpls:

And I don't give a fucl what nobody says. For all the criticism he has and the way he left Zeke was a better GM in terms of finding talent that everyone that came after him:mjpls:

With Hornacek in, we're gonna see the death of the long two, thank god:blessed: Melo, take them two steps back and start launching them threes like you did three years ago:ufdup: The team is gonna play at a much faster pace too. Can't wait to see how KP and Grant look under Hornacek, no more Rambis to fukk up their development :blessed: Hornacek is gonna be able to hire his own assistants though, right?:patrice:

Finally, the Knicks have a good coach in place, some decent youth on the squad, all of their picks, and a franchise player in KP. It's the first time in a while where I can feel more than cautiously optimistic about the Knicks future.
